The Flag of Tajikistan

Tajikistan's flag retains the colours from the flag of the Tajik Republic, when it was a part of the Soviet Union. Red is from the Russian flag; green symbolises the country's agricultural products, and white represents its cotton crop. The centred crown with seven stars is said to represent the country's independence; the name Tajik is connected in popular etymology with the Persian word tâj (crown).
